Saturday June 14th was a gorgeous sunny blue
sky day. A lot of people showed up to celebrate
with breakfast and then the Flag Ceremony.
President Sohm welcomed everyone out and the
Drum & Fife Corp started marching with our own
Adam Lever & LA Norton. An enormous flag was
unfurled with lots of help while a bugle sounded.
Everyone sang the Star Spangled Banner and then
recited The Pledge of Allegiance. The 5th Grade
then sang a gorgeous song titled "God Bless Our
Soldiers Tonight." They did an awesome job.
Brother & Sister Blameyer shared what having a
son who earned a Gold Star meant...there wasn't a
dry eye in the crowd. Tom Chapman wore his uniform
and shared a few of his experiences while serving
his country. President Walquist thanked everyone
for coming before Dean Furse finished the program
with the official Flag Retirement Ceremony.
It was a great way to celebrate Flag Day!
